FIGEAC AÉRO Group (ticker code: FGA), a leading partner of major aerospace industry companies announces the inauguration of its new production site in Mexico.
In the presence of Licenciado Jorge Vidal, Secretary for the Economy of the State of Sonora-Mexico, Jean-Claude Maillard Chief Executive Officer and the entire FIGEAC AÉRO MEXICO team inaugurated the Group's new production plant for North America, located in Hermosillo, capital of the State of Sonora in the North West of Mexico.
This new production site with a surface area of 8,500 m2 including 800 m2 of offices on 3 ha of land already employs over 160 people, producing elementary parts in light alloys and hard metals, as well as small sub-assemblies for the doors of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
To gain in competitiveness, four key skills have been brought together on this site: machining with 13 machines, sheet metal with 10 machines, 2 assembly lines and a surface treatment shop.
With €20 M invested since 2015, this site is consistent with the Group's successful industrial strategy. This is based on industrial excellence, and an ability to locate close to our customers (USA, Europe), whilst improving productivity and price competitiveness via production units in "best cost" regions (Morocco, Mexico, Tunisia).
"FIGEAC AÉRO Group's industrial presence in Sonora is a major contribution to the State's leadership in the aerospace sector", notes the Secretary for the Economy of the State of Sonora-Mexico, Licenciado Jorge Vidal.
Jean-Claude Maillard, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of FIGEAC AÉRO adds "This industrial site is consistent with our development strategy based on the know-how of sites of industrial excellence located close to customers and supported by a best cost industrial entity. This production site also enables the Group to reduce its exposure to the dollar risk."
