In response to the concerns expressed by Jacques Lambert, president of Euro 2016 SAS, the organiser of the Euro 2016 competition, Olympique Lyonnais confirms that the Stade des Lumières is still to feature prominently in the Euro 2016 competition and is a candidate for the opening match, pool-stage matches and one of the semi-final matches of this prestigious competition for France.

The Stade des Lumières project is moving ahead at a normal pace. The design/build contract is expected to be signed with the builder in the first few days of October so that earthworks can begin in line with the construction schedule.

However, Olympique Lyonnais is still waiting for the outcome of the Administrative Court's hearing concerning the appeal against the construction permit. The hearing should take place at the beginning of December, enabling the financing plan with the banks to be finalised thereafter, since traditionally banks will only make their final decision once legal proceedings have been settled. Olympique Lyonnais naturally regrets this series of proceedings, the sole objective of which is to delay construction.

Olympique Lyonnais' professional squad is expected to take possession of the stadium at the start of the 2015/16 season. This schedule has been communicated to Euro 2016 SAS and is in line with their requirements.

Olympique Lyonnais' chairman, Jean-Michel Aulas, will meet Jacques Lambert, chairman of Euro 2016 SAS in Paris today to confirm these arrangements.
